Reflexology is a non-invasive touch therapy that is based on the theory that there are reflex points on your feet and hands that correspond with the organs, glands and systems of your body. Gentle pressure is applied to these reflexes using fingers and thumbs, in order to restore balance, promote self-healing and leave you feeling re-vitalised.
It is a wonderful holistic therapy, that treats your whole body both physically and emotionally encouraging total relaxation. Reflexology is suitable for all ages and works very well alongside conventional medicine. It is used within many settings including hospitals, hospices and care homes.
You should not use reflexology as an alternative to seeking medical advice, and I am not able to diagnose or cure illness.
During your first appointment I will take a full medical history and ask you to sign a consent form. Anything that you share with me during the consultation will, of course, remain confidential. I will then tailor the treatment to your individual needs and ensure that you get the most from your session.
It is helpful to wear loose fitting trousers so you are comfortable and they can be rolled up slightly. I’ll ask you to remove your socks and shoes and then you can sit back and relax in a chair specifically designed for reflexology. You can choose from options including: scented or unscented reflexology balm, music, blankets, and the use of an eye pillow.
Once you are all set and ready I will begin.
